Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail
This is unbelievable news, but John Sykes has left Thin Lizzy after all these years. Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham had this to say on the matter:
It's been a very tough time of late for myself and the band, firstly with drummer Tommy Aldridge's injury and now the subsequent decision for John and the rest of the group to go their separate ways. I can only apologise to everyone who has supported us over the years, but we will be back up to full speed soon.

Scott Gorham will announce future plans for Thin Lizzy shortly. Unfortunately, all the Thin Lizzy shows that had previously been confirmed for 2009 will be cancelled or postponed until further notice.

Tommy Aldridge Injured

This devastating news comes soon after Thin Lizzy drummer Tommy Aldridge was injured in early June 2009. Tommy broke his collar bone and the band subsequently had to withdraw from the June KOBETASONIK festival in Bilbao. The injuries caused the cancellation of the AC/DC dates that they were due to play.

This is a bad day for Thin Lizzyand their fans.
